Groundsure Homescreen

Groundsure Homescreen Search

New improved report now containing full planning, energy and transportation searches. Groundsure is a leading UK authority on environmental risks, including land contamination, flooding and ground stability. Its reports deliver the most up-to-date data through partnerships with leading data, mapping and technology providers such as the Environment Agency, Ordnance Survey, the British Geological Survey and JBA.

The Homescreen report used Groundsure’s unique historical land use database that enables solicitors to comply with the requirements of the Law Society practice Note on Contaminated Land and considers the risk of the property being designated under Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, together with other key natural and man-made hazards.

This fully interpreted, risk-rated screening report also uses Land Registry polygons, with enhanced energy, transportation and planning application and restrictions screenings.

Key Features Why This Matters
Contaminated land risk assessment using the National Brownfield Risk Model (NBRM) and environmental datasets. Identifies potential environmental liabilities in line with Law Society guidance, protecting buyers and supporting due diligence.
Flood risk assessment across river, coastal, surface water, and groundwater sources at 5m resolution. Provides a clear understanding of flood exposure, insurance implications, and development risks.
FloodScore™ – indicative insurance risk classification from flooding. Helps convey potential insurance premium considerations to prospective buyers.
Powered by Groundsure IQ – combines AI, algorithms, and expert analysis for robust reporting. Delivers enhanced accuracy and insight, improving confidence in the findings.
Ground stability screening including natural subsidence, cavities, and non-coal mining. Assesses ground risks that may affect foundations, lending security, or future structural works.
Coal mining screening. Highlights any proximity to historic mining activity that may present future stability risks.
Detailed radon potential data. Identifies potential health risks due to radon exposure and supports building regulations compliance.
Enhanced energy screening – includes oil and gas sites, wind and solar installations, and major infrastructure. Provides awareness of nearby energy projects that may affect amenity, planning, or resale value.
Comprehensive transportation screening including HS2, Crossrail, active/historic railways, tunnels, and the Underground. Reveals infrastructure projects that may influence noise levels, ground vibration, or long-term site context.
Screening of planning applications near the property. Gives a sense of local development activity and potential future changes to the surrounding area.
